Achieving Hazard Awareness
- This course is presented in a “Workshop” format.
- It is not “Generic” in nature.
- It is workplace-specific training because it is based on discussion of the actual accidents experienced within the client’s workplace and the risks associated with the client’s operation.
- Through discussion, it helps learners identify actual and potential hazards in the workplace using various hazard identification tools, with the goal of preventing incidents from occurring.
- The course examines the different preventative measures and proactive reporting methods that can be taken to eliminate or reduce the chance of an accident occurring.
This course is not about reviewing rules and regulations. It is about developing the individual’s awareness and knowledge of
hazards, in order to prevent accidents.
Learning Objectives
Participants Will:
- Recognize why people get hurt and damages occur
- Understand the main root causes of accidents within their workplace
- Become aware of where hazards come from and/or how they are created
- Learn how to recognize hazards
- Know what to do to eliminate/reduce or control a hazard
- Know how to practice hazard recognition and control
- Understand the value of reporting hazards and “close-calls”
